Do you remember when I was working on this sewing needle case? Well, I finished it!
I’m so pleased with the way this turned out that I’m going to write up some instructions in case you would like to make one too. I will try to get that finished next week.

When we last talked, I had just completed the embroidery. I made embroidered labels for the different types of needles (tapestry, embroidery, etc.) so that everything would stay organized. I used this post on hand sewing needles at Craft Stylish as my guide.

I added two pockets — one for a pair of small sewing scissors and a second smaller pocket for some needle threaders. I didn’t want the scissors to slice through the felt, so I took the plastic packaging the scissors came in to make a shield for the pocket. The plastic protector slips right in and holds the scissors in place.

For some reason, it’s very satisfying seeing all of the needles lined up like this and arranged by type.
I went with a sparkly button for the front and now I feel so much more glamorous when I’m sewing. It could almost pass for a clutch…

I have another big project that I want to tell you about tomorrow. I’m pretty excited about this one… so stay tuned!

It is finally time to wrap up the last of the Spring Market coverage. I think there are some goodies here that were worth the wait. Let’s start out with Riley Blake Designs. They are a relatively new company, but they came back this time with a much larger booth and lots of new designs.

Riley Blake picked up several scrapbook licensees including My Mind’s Eye and October Afternoon. It was fun to see some of these great prints on fabric.

Check out the cute vintage kitchen/farm props (above). I wonder where they found that old scale.

And how cute is this cap from Doohickey Designs? I love the owls.

This area (above) is by designer Emily Taylor. It was a little hard not to drool on that chocolate cake.

I thought this cabinet was adorable. I really wanted to peek inside, but I didn’t. If you want to see more Riley Blake fabrics, be sure to check out this post.
Next up, we’ll head over to a few more Moda booths. They had a cute circus-themed set up.

I don’t think I will ever get sick of garlands and twinkle lights.

Since it is Spring Quilt Market, it seems appropriate to finish with some quilt photos. First up is the Thimble Blossoms booth (by Moda designer Camille Roskelley). She has a more traditional feel, but with a fresh, contemporary palette.

I thought this quilt at Benartex was eye-catching.

And last, but certainly not least, is Lizzy House. I headed over to Andover Fabrics to get a picture of her Castle Peeps quilt (which is a free download on her web-site). I love this collection. There is something about it that reminds me of my childhood. It’s just a bonus that the little villagers are awesome.

Well, that’s all I’ve got. If you’re hungry for more, don’t miss Kim’s posts at True Up. She always has super detailed, behind-the-scenes info and great pictures. I’ll be back the rest of the week with cupcakes and crafts.
