Greetings from Houston!
I didn’t mean to leave off quite so abruptly since my last post, but preparations for Quilt Market completely took over… everything. I made it to the plane on time with a lot of help from my family. I also discovered that you can take a hole-punch through airport security in your carry-on bag if you should ever need to make last minute changes to the way your portfolio is presented. I don’t know who needs to know that, but now you do.
Being here and meeting so many people from the fabric world has been an incredible experience that I hope to write more about after I digest it all. I feel really blessed to have met a lot of kind, encouraging people who made this experience a little less intimidating. I truly hope that I can pay forward their kindness in the future. I have also decided that if I ever see someone who is new at an event, I will come up to them and say Hi because several people did that to me and -wow- that is just a really nice thing to do.
In the meantime, I’ve been taking a lot of pictures to share from some of my favorite booths and will be posting some recaps of the show starting next week. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, so wish me luck.
