Yesterday, we ventured out to Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen for some apple picking with the whole family. I am so tired today, you’d think I also ran a marathon! Who knew that wandering around an orchard and trying to get that quintessential family photograph could be so exhausting? And I’ll be honest here — the apple picking is really all about the photo ops. Well, that and apple pie.
My husband was on a photo mission too. He got some great shots of the family and my sister’s children (and I’ll spare you all of those), but of course, he also found some animals to photograph. I think my favorite is this goat (below) with the awesome beard. So this is where the design dilemma comes in. We’re working on (FINALLY) getting some artwork on the walls. We have a poster-sized printer, so the obvious choice is to print out some of our favorite photos for the living room. However, the problem is that my husband wants to put a goat there.
I am so serious. He also has a photo of a giraffe with his mouth open and a camel drooling which he has suggested we could hang in the bathroom. I think he’s joking, but it’s really hard to tell.
Every time we go out, he has a few more portraits to add to his collection. I am thrilled as you can imagine. ;-) I’ll keep you posted on how the design negotiations are going. In the meantime, I highly recommend some fall weekend adventures if there’s a place to go apple picking near you. It is so nice to be outside with nature — even if there are goats to photograph.

Care to comment? Go for it. Be bold. Do it! But niceness counts, right?
Hahahahaha :D You are hillarious- and so is your husband!!!!
Ha. I think the goat is awesome, but I totally hear you on the decor negotiations. Tonight’s negotiations lost me the right to put my fabulous (or awful, if you ask my bf) kilim rug in the public areas of our house. . . but gained me permission to try and make a small dining table fit in our almost-nonexistent dining “room.” The fun of living with men!
