I have an optimistic feeling about the month of February. I always like it when the 1st falls on a Monday. It makes the whole week feel new and shiny (even if it is a reminder that rent is due).
Today is the letter N in this series.
N is for Nail Polish
I don’t wear very much nail polish, and when I do, it’s usually clear or very pale pink. However, I have a deep appreciation for the color experts who mix up those perfect shades of colors. I think anyone who spends a lot of time trying to select colors for a project (whether you are painting, quilting, or designing), can appreciate the thought that goes into selecting the colors in a make-up line. When I am having trouble narrowing down the right pinks or reds or purples, I will often go to the store and stand in front of the nail polish aisle for a little bit of color inspiration.
N is for Notes
This is a little peak inside my top drawer which is stuffed full with my notes. I am a chronic note-taker and list-maker. I can entertain myself for hours on a plane with just a pen and some scratch paper. When I am stumped, I dig through this drawer and feel more like myself at once.

It is nice to read your posts and see your photos. I enjoy your thoughts and ideas – they prompt my thoughts and give me some new perspectives. Perspectives such as “a reminder that the rent is due.” probably brings joy to the landlords of the world
(perverse?). Perspectives such as – I am amazed how much beauty there is in the world – both your thoughts and your photos remind me of so many I would not have remembered on my own.
