Day 2: B is for Beautiful

Today, I am continuing the series More to Love: A to Z, 26 Days of Alphabetic Inspiration… with the letter B.

B is for Bunnies

Bunnies

There is a little stash of bunnies inside my tall storage cabinet in the studio.  I don’t really remember consciously placing them there, but they always charm me when I open the door.  Bunnies have a nice, calming presence and, in moderation, can do wonders for one’s mood.

B is for Bolig Liv

Boligliv

Bolig Liv is a Danish decorating magazine of almost mythic proportions in the blogosphere.  I think it’s the unicorn of the magazine world.  Those who have a copy – either from some kind Danish person who sent it in the mail or as a souvenir from a foreign airport – always seen to wish they could get their hands on it again.  I fell in love with some images I had seen online and went through a crazy goose-chase involving lots of google translate, Danish kroner, and a very complicated wire transfer with my bank to get my hands on 2 issues.  I don’t even want to say how much they ended up costing.

However, the two issues I have from 2006 are still my favorite magazine issues of all time, and I find myself referring  to them whenever I need some inspiration.  It looks like their website actually offers subscriptions to the U.S. now, but it’s not cheap.  I wonder if it arrived every month if it would feel quite so special.  I don’t know.

B is for Bento

Lastly, B is for Bento.  (What is bento? Simply stated, bento is a Japanese boxed lunch.  However, if you do a quick google search, you are sure to come across cute bento like in this picture from my bento book.)

Bento

Bento reminds me of the “monster sandwiches” my mom used to make when we were kids.  She would arrange our lunches into little faces with lettuce for the hair, grapes for a nose, etc.  I love seeing the care that goes into these boxes.  It’s such an interesting expression of creativity.

Ok, well, that just about covers B.

B

  • B is for bounty.  You can never have enough Bobbins, Bookshelves, or Baked Goods.
  • B is for Buck Slips!
  • B is for Becca’s Blue Bakery.
  • B is for bravery, boldness, and beauty.

“C” ya next time for the letter “C.”  (Sorry, I know I promised to avoid the puns…)

Care to comment? Go for it. Be bold. Do it! But niceness counts, right?
