Back from Pixie Hollow

Streamers

This weekend was my niece’s 2nd birthday, and I spent the day surrounded by Tinkerbell, various princesses, and lots and lots of cake.  I love decorating for birthday parties so I headed over on Friday to help out with the set-up.

While I hung rows of streamers, my sister baked 3 (yes, count them 3) custom cakes and 24 cupcakes including this adorable enchanted tree trunk.  (Can you believe this is even a cake?  Love the little mushrooms!)  Rebecca recently opened her own bakery in San Marcos so she managed to make the Tinkerbell cake, a cake shaped like a Porsche for my dad, and her customer’s orders all in the amount of time it took me to make one wonky pompom and hang these streamers.  I always expect good things from her (she is my sister after all), but she keeps blowing me away with all that she’s doing.  And I think this tree trunk cake might be my favorite yet.

Next up: my mom and I worked on a little sewing project for the birthday girl.  It was really fun to plan this present together.  I’ll have some pictures to share of my part tomorrow.
